The Bhagavad-gītā is an 18-chapter dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna within the Mahābhārata. It opens as Arjuna questions his duty on the battlefield of Kurukṣetra.
The text explores responsible action (karma-yoga), knowledge, meditation, the self, devotion and surrender. Bhakti-yoga is particularly central in Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava readings.
Read chapter by chapter, ask questions and distinguish Sanskrit text from translation and commentary. Different published editions can reflect differing interpretations.
